WRAPS WRAPS WRAPS

 WE LOVE WRAPS!

it is true we love them. we love that they are easy, relatively healthy and so versatile. you can pretty much use whatever you want, wrap it up and ENJOY! they are nice too because everyone doesn't have to eat the same one. for instance we had wraps yesterday, we used the same veggies, but the man had spicy bbq sauce (simply made with BBQ sauce and Sriracha mixed) and i had garlic hummus. i then dipped mine in a lime bbq sauce (simply made with BBQ sauce and fresh lime juice).

this is a great lunch or even dinner and works great to pack in a lunch or to use at a "make your own" meal get together. you could easily lay out all of the fixin's and have guests build their own wrap. ultimately they are delicious, healthy and easy!

have fun with it and let me know what your favorite flavor combinations are!

 INGREDIENT IDEAS

yesterday we used red and green bell peppers, avocado, romaine lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, spinach wraps, feta cheese, hummus, bbq, hot sauce, diced ham and turkey and fresh basil and lime.

try anything:

MEAT: chicken (canned, or grilled), ham, turkey, prosciutto, bacon, shredded pork or beef, etc.

VEGGIES or FRUIT: (raw or cooked) peppers, onions, lettuce, spinach, tomatos, mushrooms, avocado, cranberries, raisins, apples, grapes, carrots, celery, cucumbers, sprouts etc.

SAUCES (use as dipping sauce if you are going to eat later to avoid a soggy wrap or if using a thick sauce place in the middle of veggies away from wrap): hummus, bbq, sweet and sour, mayo, ranch, any salad dressing (mix with greens to evenly distribute), cranberry sauce (i love turkey and cranberry), A1, sweet chili, lime juice, lemon juice, vinegar and oil, the list really is endless

WRAPS: spinach, sundried tomato, garlic, wheat, white (large tortillas), our favorite are large spinach wraps that we find at Winco.

FRESH HERBS: basil, and cilantro are our favorite, but try something new!

CHEESES: feta, goat cheese, grated cheddar, fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola, i couldn't even begin to write all of the cheese possibilities down, smoked gouda, havarti, anything really!

just have fun with it, experiment, just writing these down i have started to imagine even more possibilites of goat cheese and carmelized onions with grilled chicken and spinach or turkey and cranberry sauce with brie and mixed greens or a chicken salad with terragon or cinnamon and celery and grapes or apples and greens. oh the possibilities. let me know what you come up with!

ENJOY!

i couldn't resist sharing this of the little one being so happy this morning and playing in her jungle. she is a angel. she just laughs and talks and kicks and smiles and she slept for almost ten hours last night. i am a mama that can't complain!
